About Us
Canyon Arts & Creeks Camp, lovingly known simply as “Canyon Camp,” was founded in 2010 by a mother and daughter duo who wanted to re-imagine what summer could feel like. What started as a small dream in a quiet corner of the East Bay has grown into a joyful and long-standing tradition that still carries the same family spirit today. We continue to run and personally oversee the camp each summer, ensuring that every child is welcomed, supported, and encouraged to explore.
Our program is built on a simple philosophy: childhood should be full of wonder.
We believe in the kind of summer that unfolds under redwood trees and along shaded creek banks, a place where screens are traded for imagination, where time slows down, and where play becomes a child’s most important work. Campers spend their days creating art, discovering hidden corners of nature, and making memories that cannot be downloaded, only lived.
At Canyon Camp, connection is at the center of everything we do. We intentionally keep our program small, which allows mixed age groups to learn from one another, build unique friendships, and look out for each other like a real community. Older campers become role models, younger campers gain confidence, and everyone gets to shine in their own way.
With a blend of nature based exploration, hands-on art experiences, and plenty of unstructured outdoor play, we aim to nurture curiosity, creativity, resilience, and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
Canyon Arts & Creeks Camp is more than just a place to spend the summer. It is a place to grow, discover, belong, and make a little magic in the redwoods.
