General Information

Canyon Arts & Creeks Camp provides an enriching, safe, and fun outdoor experience for campers. Please review the following policies to ensure a smooth camp experience for everyone:

Payments and Refunds

Due to limited space, early registration is encouraged. Payment is processed securely via credit or debit card upon registration. Refunds are available based on the following guidelines:

  • Cancellations before May 30, 2025: Full refund (minus Eventbrite service fees).
  • Cancellations after May 30, 2025: Refunds will be issued minus a $50 per child, per session late cancellation fee (Eventbrite fees are non-refundable).
  • Cancellations on the Sunday before camp starts or during the camp week: No refunds.
  • Camp-wide cancellations: Full refunds will be provided.
  • No deductions or refunds for unattended camp days.

Lunch & Snacks

Campers should bring a labeled sack lunch daily. Canyon Camp provides a drink and two snacks per day. Campers should bring a labeled reusable water bottle.

Food Allergies

Parents must inform the camp of any food allergies. While we provide snacks, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Campers with severe food allergies should bring their own nut-free and shellfish-free meals and may opt to sit separately for safety.

Health & Medication

Sick Camper Policy

Campers must stay home or be picked up promptly if they exhibit any of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:

  • Fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, chills, or other flu-like symptoms.
  • Contagious conditions such as COVID-19, unless cleared by a doctor.

Medication Policy

  • Parents must submit all medication to camp staff at check-in
  • Medication must be in its original packaging with clear instructions.
  • Medications are stored securely and must be picked up by a parent/guardian at the end of the session.
  • Campers with EPIPEN’s may opt to keep an EPI in their backpacks as long as a second EPI is provided to camp staff

Camper Dress Code & Items to Bring

Appropriate Dress

  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing.
  • Athletic shoes for active play.
  • Creek shoes (sandals, rain boots, etc.) for water activities.
  • Swimsuit and towel are optional on creek walk days (every Wednesday).
  • Extra change of clothes if needed.

Prohibited Items

Campers may not bring:

  • Electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, gaming consoles, smartwatches with active features).
  • Money, toys, or valuables.
  • Weapons, contraband, or illicit substances.

Toilet Training Expectation

Campers must be fully toilet trained and able to use the restroom independently. This includes:

  • No diapers or training pants.
  • Ability to communicate bathroom needs.
  • Self-wiping and hand-washing skills.

Accommodations may be made for documented medical conditions.

Photography & Media Policy

  • Parents/guardians may not take photos, videos, or audio recordings of other campers, staff, or families.
  • Campers may not use personal devices for photography or recording
  • No media captured at camp may be posted online or shared without permission.

Gender Identity & Inclusivity

  • Campers, staff and volunteers may use pronouns and restrooms that align with their gender identity.
  • Gender-neutral or private restroom options will be provided
  • Staff will work with families to ensure a safe, inclusive environment.

Camper Code of Conduct

We expect campers to act respectfully at all times when they are on our property and participating in our programs. Campers should behave in an age-appropriate, responsible manner and always respect the rights and dignity of others. If a camper ever feels uncomfortable or needs assistance, they are encouraged to talk to a counselor or any camp staff member.

Bullying Policy

At Canyon Camp, bullying is not tolerated. Every camper is expected to treat others with kindness and respect. If a camper struggles to meet this expectation, parents may be called upon to help address the situation.

Discipline & Behavior Policy

If a camper has difficulty following our behavior guidelines, we will take the following steps:

  1. Staff will gently remind and redirect the camper toward appropriate behavior.
  2. If the behavior continues, parents will be notified, the camper will be reminded of expectations and asked to come up with a plan to correct their actions.
  3. Continued inappropriate behavior may result in dismissal from camp.

Examples of Unacceptable Behavior:

  • Not following camp rules or staff directions.
  • Using inappropriate language (profanity, vulgarity, or obscenity).
  • Damaging or stealing property.
  • Disrupting activities.
  • Leaving a program without permission.
  • Endangering the safety of themselves or others.
  • Engaging in bullying, teasing, or aggressive behavior.
  • Physical violence, fighting, or inappropriate conduct.

Camper fees are non-refundable if a camper is dismissed for behavioral reasons. Severe violations, including physical aggression or bullying, will result in immediate removal from camp for the remainder of the summer.
